Price and process
How much does a custom Discord bot cost?
One-system bots start at $590, bots with several connected systems at $1,490 and platform bots with dashboards or payments at $3,500. See pricing and the cost guide.
How do I get a quote?
Fill in the brief form. You get a reply within one business day with questions or a price range. Small bots get a fixed quote after a few questions. For bigger builds you can start with a paid Bot Blueprint, which is credited to the build.
How long does a build take?
One-system bots usually take one to two weeks from the approved quote, multi-system bots two to four weeks and platform bots four to eight. The delivery date is in the quote.
How do payments work?
Bot Rescue and Bot Blueprint are paid up front. Starter and Community builds are 50% up front and 50% when you accept the delivery against the agreed checklist; Platform builds are billed per milestone. Invoices are sent through Stripe and can be paid by card.
What if I want changes after launch?
Bugs are fixed free for 30 days. New features are quoted separately or covered by Care Plus hours, and other change work is $90 an hour.
Ownership and security
Who owns the bot and the code?
You do. The bot runs on a Discord application in your account, you hold the token, and the source code is handed over in a repository you own.
Will you need my Discord password?
Never. You create the application in the Discord Developer Portal and add me as a team member, or share the bot token through a secure channel. Nobody should ever ask for your account login.
What data does the bot store?
Only what the features need, and it's listed in the spec. Most bots store server, channel, role and user IDs plus the feature's own data. Message content is only read when a feature needs it.
Can I host the bot myself?
Yes. Every build comes with setup docs so you or another developer can run it. Self-hosting a small bot usually costs a few dollars a month.
Discord's rules
Are custom Discord bots allowed?
Yes. Bots are a supported part of Discord, and custom bots are fine as long as they follow Discord's Terms of Service and Developer Policy.
Do you build selfbots?
No. Automating a normal user account breaks Discord's Terms and can get the account banned. Everything I build is a proper bot application.
What won't you build?
Fake members or activity, vote manipulation, gambling, bots that copy messages out of servers you don't own, and anything else that breaks Discord's rules.
What happens if the bot grows past 100 servers?
A bot has to be verified by Discord before it can join more than 100 servers. Since June 2026, privileged intents such as Message Content also need Discord's approval once more than 10,000 users can see the bot. Most custom bots run in one server, so neither usually applies. If yours will be public, the spec plans for both.
Hosting and support
Where is the bot hosted?
On Care plans I host it on managed infrastructure with monitoring and backups. Care is $49 a month, and the first month is included with every build.
What happens if Discord changes its API?
On a Care plan, library and API updates are included. Without one, you can book Bot Rescue when something breaks.
Can you take over a bot someone else built?
Usually, yes. It starts with a Bot Rescue-style check of the code and hosting. Then the bot can move onto a Care plan.
What time zone are you in?
Stockholm, Sweden (CET). I reply Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 CET, which overlaps with US mornings.
