How the Discord bot cost estimator picks a tier

It looks at three things: how many systems the bot runs, how many outside services it talks to, and whether it needs one of the extras that change the size of a build. Each answer points to a tier, and the highest one wins.

• Starter, from $590: one system, such as a ticket bot or a map veto bot. One integration is fine when reading from that service is the bot's job, like go-live alerts, role sync, AI answers from one docs site or team setup from a sheet. Paid roles for a single product count here too.
• Community, from $1,490: two or three systems, a second integration, an integration added on top of a system such as tickets that log to Google Sheets, or paid roles with several tiers, trials or coupons. Each esports workflow counts as a system, so a league bot with registration and check-in lands here.
• Platform, from $3,500: four or more systems, three or more integrations, a web dashboard, several servers sharing data, or payments across several products.

The ranges ($590 to $1,200, $1,490 to $3,000, and $3,500 to $8,000 or more) are what I'd expect to quote at each tier. They are not market averages. What moves a quote within its range is the detail: rules only your server has, how well the other service's API is documented, and whether data has to come over from a bot you already run. A rush date doesn't change the tier; it changes whether I have a slot, and I'll say so before you pay anything. Every tier and what it includes is on the pricing page.

What it costs to keep the bot running

A bot's code runs on a server of its own, not on Discord, so the build is one cost and hosting is another. A bot that reacts to things happening in your server keeps a WebSocket connection open to Discord's Gateway, which means a process running around the clock. A bot that only answers slash commands and buttons can take interactions over HTTP instead, at an Interactions Endpoint URL.

One small bot fits a plan of about $2 to $5 a month: Cybrancee at $1.99 a month (512 MB), PebbleHost at $3.00 a month (1 GB) and Railway at $5 a month minimum usage (Hobby), as of September 27, 2026. A web dashboard and its database need hosting of their own. Care, at $49 a month, includes managed hosting, monitoring, library updates and one small change a month; Care Plus at $149 adds up to two hours of changes and a reply within one business day. The first month of Care comes with every build.

Two Discord rules only matter as a bot grows. Discord's Gateway docs say verification is required for apps in 100 or more servers, and since June 10, 2026 privileged intents such as Message Content need a review once an app reaches 10,000 users, where the line used to be 100 servers. A bot for your own server or league is nowhere near either.

What the wider market charges

For comparison, these are the figures buyers see elsewhere, checked on September 27, 2026. The Fiverr package and order figures come from my own sample of top gig pages. The Fiverr guide and Upwork ranges are those sites' own estimates, not transaction data.
